Abortion, Marriage, and the Courts

Hal Jordan believes that strong families are vital to our country’s future. Our nation should protect the lives of the most vulnerable — the unborn — and encourage families to adopt children in need of a loving home.  Jordan supports the Human Life Amendment, which would protect life beginning at conception.

Jordan also favors protecting marriage between a man and a woman, because the evidence indicates that children raised in a two parent home have the best foundation to succeed. He supports a constitutional amendment which declares that marriage shall only consist of a legal union between one man and one woman.

The federal courts are vital for protecting our constitutional freedoms. Although the House of Representatives does not play a direct role in confirming federal judges, Jordan will recommend to the Senate the promotion of judges who have a record of strictly interpreting and protecting our constitution rather than legislating from the bench. He believes that both Chief Justice Roberts and Associate Justice Alito represent good examples of the judicial restraint and common sense needed on our nation’s highest court.
